Here at Thousand Apologies, we’re all about two things: unapologetic flavour and making sure our planet doesn’t feel the heat. It started with Rita Kanji – founder, lover of all things hot, and flavour fiend – who set out to create a brand that crafts outrageously delicious sauces from quality ingredients that are good for people and good for the planet. Thanks to Sustainability.org, Thousand Apologies in it's first year of business proudly holds a shiny new Sustainability Award.

Our sauces aren’t just hot – they’re flavour filled, carefully crafted from locally sourced chillies and wild Australian natives. Think of a range that takes you from mild flirtations to full-blown capsaicin chaos.

Sustainability for us isn’t some tick-the-box affair. Leftovers? They’re sent to the compost, back to the soil where it all started. Ingredients? Sourced from around the corner to keep carbon emissions low. Even our glass bottles, infinitely recyclable and styled to fit in pockets or bags, are designed to be cool enough to follow you wherever you need.
To add to the story of circularity, we give our bottles another life. When our customers are done with their sauce, they can return their bottle back to us. We’ll clean and sterilise them for a refill. The sauce that keeps on giving.

Sustainability extends to every little detail. The labels, printed with compostable ink and non-toxic adhesive, they’re as eco-friendly as the sauce inside. The packaging? Recycled, FSC-certified materials and organic inks. So, whether you toss it in the compost or the recycling.

Marketing materials? Only if we have to. We print on 100% Aussie-made, recycled, Carbon Neutral-certified paper. And when it’s time to get our sauces to your door? We choose Sendle – a carbon-neutral delivery service that knows how to keep it green.
